Jericho saved!
In a rare move, CBS has given Jericho a reprieve. Cancelled at the May upfronts, fans of the show protested vigorously, and today the network announced that it will be ordering seven new episodes to air mid-season next year. It's far from a full order, and the show will have to gain back audience, but it counts as a victory all the same for fans.
I like Jericho - I didn't send any nuts to Leslie Moonves, but I'm glad to see the show back. And not just for the sake of the fans of this show - but for the sake of fans of all shows cancelled before their time (ahem... Arrested Development). I'm glad to see the network looking at things like the strength of online downloads and the impact of a long hiatus and taking it all into consideration. It's good to know someone out there isn't afraid to change their mind. Yay CBS!
