Summer tv is here!
So now that (almost) all the great shows have ended their seasons, it must be time to go get a little fresh air, right? Not bloody likely, mate. Just in time to rescue us from the heat and screaming children let loose from school, here comes summer television!
With little adieu, most shows bow this week. One I'm particularly excited about is Gameshow Marathon on CBS, which is kind of a greatest hits of game shows with celebrity contestants. Fun folks like Paige Davis and Kathy Najimy(who, if you watch Gameshow Network much, you'll know is a veteran and damn good player) will participate in shows like The Price is Right and Match Game. Unfortunately, Ricki Lake is hosting all of the fun, and lame-os like Lance Bass are also participating, but it'll be fun anyway.
Also this week, Bravo brings back Celebrity Poker Showdown. Dave Foley still hosts, but poker expert Phil Gordon has been replaced and they've moved from The Palm in Las Vegas to Harrah's in New Orleans.
Coming up soon, watch for new seasons of Rescue Me (tonight), Reno 911 (tba), Entourage (June 11) and Extras (tba, reruns of season one start June 5). And if you missed it, Fox will be rerunning the entire season of 24 on Friday nights beginning June 16. Of course this Sunday, both Sopranos and Big Love wrap up their seasons.
