No second chance for Emily?

Just as I posted the last entry, I saw a notice pop up over on Futon Critic. Emily's Reasons Why Not did so poorly in its debut (along with the return of Jake in Progress), ABC is pulling it for a rerun of the Bachelor premiere this Monday. NOT a good sign.

It's been, like, forever!

Soooooooooooo sorry for the incredible delay between posts lately! I could make lots of excuses, but really I just let time get away from me. Now that the second half of the season is kicking up and there are some new shows out there, it's about time I get back on board.

First, a fond farewell to Arrested Development, whose "season finale" will air on Fox on Friday, February 10th. It's really just the final four episodes strung together, but I'll take what I can get. The latest rumor is both ABC and Showtime are seriously looking at picking up the series, so there is still hope.

Second, I took a peek at Emily's Reasons Why Not and was not impressed. I love Heather Graham and am glad somebody saw her comedic potential (she was fantastic in an extended guest turn last season on Scrubs) but something about this show just isn't coming together for me. The premise is a bit weak, and the pilot was just plain dumb, but I like the supporting cast. Pilots are often not a good bellweather for the series as a whole, so I'll give the show one or two more viewings before deciding on its season pass fate.

Third, and finally, all our old favorites are coming back (or have come back) this week. Lost was strong, with a new backstory on Echo (or Adebisi, if you were a fan of Oz) and some intriguing developments with Walt. The new season of Project Runway on Bravo is turning out to be even better than last year's debut, with designers who have both talent AND personality - imagine! Both 24 and American Idol start this coming week, so it's about to get real busy on the Tivo. Two hours of 24 both Sunday and Monday! I'll be watching while reading Dave Barry's always hilarious blog accounts in real-time.
